We conduct classes twice a month for Cadence® OrCAD® Capture and Layout Classes.

We have a very unique approach in teaching Cadence® OrCAD® Capture and Allegro, Pads and Cadence® OrCAD® Layout since we are not technicians but we are designers who are using the software every single day since it was launched.

We do not use the "Canned Demo" or "Cookie Cutter" type training that you would receive from other companies. We train using one of your designs, that you bring in. You will work to solve your problems, on your boards, with your database. We run you through the entire course, from Library Generation, Net list extraction, parts placement, routing, fill areas, documentation, and post processing. All of this is taught by an instructor who is a full time pcb designer, using Cadence® OrCAD® on a daily basis.

Our personalized, 1 on 1 training is limited to a maximum of 5 students. This gives the instructor plenty of time to work with each student at their own pace, and teach them all of the ins and outs of the software. Once our students complete our course, they are immediately productive in the software.

Your instructor will be Bob Chandler who is a Senior PCB Designer and Cadence® OrCAD® and Allegro Layout expert with well over 20 years experience in a wide variety of fields. He has completed large Main Logic Boards for companies such as Apple Computer, Intel, and Hewlett Packard. He has done small and complex analog boards for Trimble Navigation, TRW, and Lockheed-Marten, Panasonic, Siemens, and many more.

He is an expert Cadence® Allegro® PCB Editor, Cadence® OrCAD® and Mentor Board Station Senior pcb designer. Bob is equally proficient in any of these software packages. His working knowledge is such that he has also trained many engineers and designers in these packages for several years now and all over the USA. Bob uses the Cadence® OrCAD® Layout software every single day since Cadence® OrCAD® was launched and knows the software inside and out.

In addition to his years of experience in Design and Layout Management, Bob holds a Masters Degree in Operations Management at San Jose State University. This degree is rare in PCB Designers, but it helps him to understand more than just the lines and circles of the computer. Bob is a highly recognized top-notch Silicon Valley PCB expert, and a true Cadence® OrCAD®, Mentor and Allegro Expert !

We ask that the student bring a sample of the type of board that they will be doing. We will use this as the training exercise for the class.

We have found that it helps for the student to work on something "real" that relates to their job, rather than on some canned demo board that we come up with.

We make sure that the student covers the entire Cadence® Allegro® PCB Editor , Cadence® OrCAD®, PADS, Mentor Board Station Layout software, and is comfortable with every aspect of the Layout.

You will be entitled to unlimited e-mail and phone support upon completion of the training classes.

We require payment before your scheduled classes or a PO to reserve the dates and Full payment due one week or a day before the schedule of your training classes. At least 2 weeks prior to instructor's scheduled trip for on-site classes.

Maximum number of participants would be 10.

Please e-mail carolle@cadesign.net for pricing in your location and further customization of our training program

Ideal reservation via PO would be one month in advance so that we could get early travel arrangements.

You have the option to pay by credit card through our website's Online Payment System using VISA, MasterCard or American Express.

We do not have canned training materials but we have a manual on Important Notes and Tips in Cadence® Allegro® PCB Editor Layout and Cadence® OrCAD® Layout that we distribute on the second day of the training classes. You are entitled to unlimited phone and e-mail support after the training program. You can reach us with live person 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
