Project Manager
Manage your entire design using a sophisticated project management system. An expanding tree diagram lets you efficiently navigate and organize all of your design files, including those files generated by plug-in modules available from OrCAD.
Hierarchical Designs
With OrCAD Capture CIS, you can easily organize and reuse duplicate circuitry through the use of hierarchical blocks. You can update ports and pins dynamically and reuse Cadence OrCAD Layout and Cadence Allegro® PCB modules within or between schematics.
Database Integration
OrCAD Capture CIS works with any database that complies with Microsoft’s ODBC standard. You can directly access data in an MRP, ERP, or PDM system and/or an intermediate database dedicated to engineering component data. Standard drivers are supplied for ODBC compliant databases.
Getting Started
You can use the CIS Database Creation Wizard to automatically create a new preferred part database. This wizard will populate your database with property information extracted from your existing OrCAD Capture schematics. The latest version of the wizard is available free of charge.
Active Parts
A new, fully integrated online component library, accessed through OrCAD Capture CIS, allows you to search and select components from more than two million parts. This significant increase of access to parts provides users with a whole new level of design flexibility by allowing them to search online with Active Parts™ instead of having to search only a local database for new parts.
