How do we know which software best fits our layout?
Most Clients already have the software selected to match their in-house requirements. Other clients either do not have in-house software, or they don't care which software is used. If the choice of software is left to CA Design, we will normally choose Cadence® OrCAD® Layout, this software is less expensive for the client, and yet offers most the advanced features of the more expensive platforms. The other features are available to Cadence® OrCAD® users within the Cadence® SPECCTRA® for OrCAD® Auto router.
Could we interface even though we are in the East coast?
We've had clients all over the world and we never had problems in our physical absence in your facility because of internet technology. We can submit confidential data through your own ftp sites. With the internet technology, we can have files to you 24/7 working days. When we deliver the daily status file, you have until noon to look it over before it is even 9:00 am California time.
How do you estimate our PCB layout and PCB changes?
The way we quote most designs is to review your data and schedule, and then determine how long the project will take. We then multiply that by our standard hourly rate based on software layout used whether it will be in Cadence® OrCAD®, Cadence® Allegro® PCB Editor , Mentor, or PADS layout.
What is your minimum charge?
Our minimum charge for a new design is $600. Our minimum charge for a design change is $500.
When do you start our project?
Officially, we only start once we have your Purchase Order. Un-officially, we will work with you to meet your schedule. One thing that helps with the schedule is if we can start building your library parts as soon as you accept or approve our bid, even if the schematic is not complete.
How fast could you finish our PCB design, PCB layout, and PCB changes?
CA Design will meet your schedule, if it is physically possible. We have a team of highly skilled and competent Pads, Cadence® OrCAD®, Cadence® Allegro® PCB Editor, and Mentor Board Station designers working around the clock to make sure your board is done RIGHT and ON TIME.
What are your terms of payment?
First time orders are COD or 100% payment upon completion and succeeding orders are at net/30.
You can pay via credit card through our online payment system or call your credit card information and we'll do it for you.
Do you have to change your price, when during the final review; we find out that we need to have some changes?
CA Design understands the engineering processand that there will always be changes.
CA Design works very hard to accommodate the changes within the original budget.
We know how disappointing it can be to give a Purchase Order for $600 and then get an Invoice for $750.
We never charge more than our quote unless you approve the new quote in advance.
95% of our jobs are completed for the original quote, or less.
How much would it cost us to have somebody to come over to our facility for on-site PCB training?
Please refer to our Cadence® OrCAD® training page for the overview of our Training Programs.
We offer a 5-day Cadence® OrCAD® training for 4 participants in your facility. This comes with unlimited phone and e-mail support after training class.
For a group of 4 up to maximum of 10 in San Jose, California , we recommend having the venue at Hayes Mansion Conference Center for a period of 5 straight days (Mondays to Fridays).
We also offer 3-day one on one training in our San Jose facility for Cadence® OrCAD® Layout on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday and another
2-day one on one training for Cadence® OrCAD® Capture on a Saturday and Sunday schedule.
